Public Space
A Community Gathering Place
Flats East Bank will blend inspiring architecture and a rich urban industrial
landscape with imaginative public spaces and a streetscape that focuses
on a quality pedestrian experience.
The project incorporates a series of signature outdoor parks and plazas
that activate the connection to the water's edge and create a convenient,
inviting location to gather and live.
The East Bank will draw people to the waterfront with public amenities
including:
- A 1,200 foot riverfront boardwalk linking a series of public spaces
- More than two acres of green space and parks
- A market pavilion and public spaces for street fairs, arts festivals,
farmers' markets and concerts
- Physical and visual connections to the Cuyahoga River
- Green building practices
- Public art
- Riverside docking
- Access point to the Towpath Trail, a 100-mile-long stretch of the
Ohio and Erie Canal Corridor used by three million pedestrians and bicyclists
each year
